In general, we can say that the color red is a symbol of attention, it excites and for the same reason is considered a passionate color.  It is an adequate color for expressing enthusiastic and communicative joy.  It is the most exciting of the colors and it can signify passion, emotion, action, aggression and danger.

Yellow, for its part, is a brilliant, happy color that stimulates the memory.  It is a color of summer and sun; therefore, when someone is sad or longing for the summer, the presence of flowers of this color can help to raise their spirits.  It always radiates everywhere and over all things.  It is the color of light and can signify egotism, jealousy, envy, hate, adolescence, laughter and pleasure. 

Blue is a fresh and relaxing color.  It is the color of the sky and the sea.  It is a reserved and seemingly distant color.  It can express confidence, reserve, harmony, affection, friendship, faithfulness and love.

Pink is the feminine color of excellence.  It calms nerves, so it could be an excellent gift for nervous people.  The popular saying, "seeing life through rose-colored glasses," faithfully reflects its meaning: naivety, goodness, kindness, good feelings and the absence of all evil.

Purple or violet is a dramatic color, ostentatious and unusual.  It is the color most used among lawyers, clergy and psychiatrists, so it wouldn't be a bad gift for them.  It is the color that indicates the absence of tension.  It can signify calm, self-control, dignity, and aristocracy, but also violence, aggression, plotting or deceit.

White symbolizes purity.  This color is associated with cleanliness and also with future times, what is to come.  It is the diffusion of light (not a color). It expresses the idea of innocence, peace, infancy, divinity, absolute stability, calm and harmony.  However, it is a contradictory color because in the Orient it is the color of death.

Black is the opposite of the light, all concentrated in itself; it is separation, sadness.  It can signify all that is hidden and veiled: death, murder, night.  It also has positive sensations like gravity and nobility.

The color gray is the color that matches all things and leaves each color with its own characteristics without influencing them.  It can express grief, boredom, the past, age, uncertainty or despair.

The color orange is the color of flaming fire and has been chosen as a signal for caution.  It can mean amusement, celebration, pleasure, dawn and the presence of sun. 

And at last we have green, the color of nature and the symbol of ecology.  It is ideal for alleviating tension and for relaxation.   Reserved and splendorous.  It is the result of harmonic accord with the blue sky and the yellow sun.  It is the color of hope.  And it can express nature, youth, desire, rest and equilibrium.
